Mike Blake AM

Mike was appointed to the VLGA board in April 2023.  He was the Tasmanian Auditor-General from 2004 to 2016. Previous and current experience includes acting as Board chairs of Anglicare Tasmania Inc, TasTAFE, the Tasmanian Electoral Commission and Tasmania’s Teachers Registration Board, Board member Chartered Accountants ANZ and chair or member of various audit committees.

Mike has a BCom from the University of Natal, Durban, is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration Australia, CA ANZ, and CPA Australia, an Honorary member of the Institute of Public Accountants and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He was awarded an AM in the Queen’s birthday honours in June 2021 – for services to the public sector and the accounting profession.
