New CEO of the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) Announced
Chief Executive Officer VLGA, Kathryn Arndt, congratulates and welcomes the incoming CEO of MAV Kerry Thompson on her new position.
Ms Thompson, a former CEO of Maribyrnong and Wyndham City Councils and current Acting CEO of VicRoads, is the perfect fit for the MAV, an entity established under the Municipal Association Act to work with the Victorian local government sector.
The VLGA looks forward to working closely with Ms Thompson and the MAV in strengthening our work within the sector.
Victorian councils play a pivotal role in providing multiple services to maintain the health and well-being of our communities. Significant challenges lay ahead for the sector, including addressing the current issues which have resulted from the absence of sustainable waste management solutions, not only in Victoria but throughout Australia.
The VLGA is confident that ongoing collaboration between key stakeholders and peak bodies will benefit the community through continued strong leadership in the local government sector.
