The VLGA would like to acknowledge the long-standing contribution of VLGA board member Susanne Newton, who has been a dedicated and passionate councillor for the City of Darebin since 2016.
Susanne joined the VLGA board a year into her first term in 2017 and her contribution since that time has been invaluable.
We thank Susanne for her commitment to the VLGA and the Darebin community during her time as a councillor and we wish her all the best for the future.
Ms Newton said she was proud of the VLGA’s work in supporting councillors to deliver positive outcomes for their communities and her role in contributing to that over many years.
“As the longest serving VLGA board member since 2017 I am immensely proud to have been part of the VLGA’s journey as it transitioned to being the only peak body for local government in Victoria that is truly focused on supporting councillors and good governance.
“I wish the VLGA all the best in the next stage of its journey and encourage all incoming councillors to take advantage of the supports offered by the organisation as they navigate the next council term.”
