The VLGA would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the tireless work of long-serving Whitehorse councillor and our most recent VLGA president Denise Massoud.
Her commitment to good governance and delivering the best outcomes for her community and more broadly the local government sector, are to be commended and celebrated.
We thank her for her service and wish her all the best for the future.
Ms Massoud said her admiration for the work done by the VLGA had grown throughout her time on the Board and as President.
“The VLGA offers opportunities to both inform and assist the growth of all councillors as they navigate their local government journey and uphold good governance principles.”
“There are many changes happening in the sector. I hope all councillors take every opportunity to maximise their learning and personal growth through VLGA events and training. It is always current, informative and supports broader understanding of issues.”
“Additionally, the networking that occurs through the VLGA is highly valued and has enabled me to meet so many great councillors and share ideas.”
“To councillors elected for 2024-2028 term, make the most of what the VLGA offers. You will realise the value it brings to you, just as I did over the past 12 years, Ms Massoud said.
