VLGA Submission - Local Government Reforms 2024

The VLGA has provided feedback to the Victorian Government on the making of Regulations that will give effect to the recent reforms of the Local Government Act 2020. These reforms introduce a Model Councillor Code of Conduct and require Mayors, Deputy Mayors and Councillors to undertake induction training and ongoing professional development.

The VLGA has made 11 recommendations in relation to the reforms.
